The North American XF-108 Rapier was an ambitious American long-range interceptor project developed during the late 1950s to defend the United States against high-speed, high-altitude Soviet bombers. Designed by North American Aviation, the Rapier was envisioned as an extremely fast aircraft capable of reaching speeds around Mach 3 and operating at altitudes above 80,000 feet. This model features moving control surfaces and retractable landing gear. It is also just plain massive. Explore an alternate Cold War where this beast of an aircraft soared across the North American Skies, but in your living room!
